Northern Ireland has today reported no new Covid-19 related deaths, for the second consecutive day.

Figures from the Department of Health also showed that there have been a further six positive cases confirmed in Northern Ireland.

These new cases bring the total number of positive cases of the virus here to 4,802.

As of 10am on Monday June 8, the Belfast district has recorded the most number of positive Covid-19 cases (1,316), followed by Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon (538), Lisburn and Castlereagh (444) and Antrim and Newtownabbey (410).

In Ards and North Down there have been 371 positive cases so far, and 343 cases confirmed within areas 'Not Known' by the Department.

Mid and East Antrim have 327 confirmed cases, Newry, Mourne and Down (289), Mid Ulster (253), Causeway Coast and Glens (248), Derry City and Strabane (177) with Fermanagh and Omagh recording 86.

Figures released today also show that 7,010 Covid-19 related patients have been discharged from hospital care to date.

There are currently 48 confirmed Covid-19 patients and 432 suspected Covid-19 patients across Northern Ireland hospital sites.

In terms of confirmed Covid-19 patients, 1,387 individuals have been discharged from hospital care.

There are currently nine patients in Intensive Care Units, with confirmed or suspected Coronavirus, the Department says.

The Department of Health has recorded 537 fatalities since the beginning of the pandemic, and no deaths within the past 48 hours.

Coronavirus has claimed the lives of 358 individuals aged 80 and above, 154 aged 60-79, 23 aged 40-59 one individual aged 20-39. The Department says the age of one fatality is 'Not Known'.

Deaths reported so far have occurred in Belfast (159), Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon (59), Antrim and Newtownabbey (55), Lisburn and Castlereagh (46), Mid and East Antrim (41), Ards and North Down (40), Causeway Coast and Glens (38), Newry, Mourne and Down (33), Mid Ulster (30), Derry City and Strabane (21), Fermanagh and Omagh (10) and 'Not Known,' (5).
